“To our Palestinian People – Strike!”

The following call, from the ‘the youth of Palestine’, has been shared across social media over the last two days.

––

A call to our Palestinian people across the entirety of the national soil.

For a general strike on Tuesday and continued resistance.

Our people’s brave uprising continues. It began in al-Quds and spread to al-Lidd, Haifa, Umm al-Fahm, Kafr Kanna, Nablus, Ramallah, al-Khalil, and arrived at the great Gaza, at every Palestinian village and town, and at Palestine’s border with Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria – arising from an imperative to build on the historic gains of our revolutionary people, in the face of a system of colonial occupation which has been standing on our throats and looting our resources for seventy three years.

In fidelity to the blood of our martyrs, out of respect for our wounded and those whose homes have been destroyed – against the relentless campaign of arrests which the occupation wages against us across all of Palestine’s town; in light of the continuous aggression of the Zionist occupation and its settler mobs against our people in Sheikh Jarrah and proud Gaza, against al-Lidd and Haifa and across all of Palestine – we continue our struggle, our demonstrations, our fights with the occupation, our intifada, until the liberation of the whole of Palestinian land.

We, the youth of Palestine, call on you to [commit to] a general strike on Tuesday 18 May 2021, and for the organisation in your areas and locations of national actions of resistance, in the cities, towns, villages, camps. Let us stay in the streets and continue our resistance.

Our commitment to a general strike shows that our intifada continues – and that it will continue as long as the occupation exists.

Resistance continues until the whole of Palestine land is liberated.
